Sage plc

Sage plc

Project Description

Sage provides business software, services and support to small and medium sized businesses. Whilst Sage’s heritage is in the small business market, they also have the experience and expertise to meet the needs of specific industries and larger organisations.
Sage are a global company with more than 6 million customers, over 13,300 employees and more than 30 years of experience working with small and medium sized businesses. However, despite Sage’s global reach they have built their success on understanding and meeting the needs of customers in their local markets. Therefore the majority of Sage products and services are developed and supported locally. This ensures Sage provides a choice of high quality products and services which are relevant to their customers and use the most appropriate technology and are supported by local experts.
Sage was one of the early leaders to venture into Sustainability reporting in 2006/2007. This leadership involved an ambitious plan to measure report and reduce the Sage corporate Carbon Footprint. Given the size and complexity of Sage’s operations, to accomplish this Sage adopted an online carbon and sustainability reporting software solution. In 2013, Sage decided that a more sophisticated solution which allowed for a wider scope of coverage, and capabilities was required for Sage’s future reporting requirements.

Following a competitive procurement process of the leading Carbon, Energy and Sustainability software solutions on the market, Accuvio was selected.

Sage is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.

Sage is directly impacted by the UK’s new mandatory Carbon / Greenhouse Gas Emissions reporting legislation. Therefore it was necessary to acquire a solution which could not only cater with their UK CRC requirements, but instantly provide reports for Mandatory carbon reporting requirements. In addition to these legislative reporting demands, Sage has ambitious plans to continue its overall drive towards a low carbon operations. Therefore a software solution which meets the reporting needs, and provides powerful analytics to aid costs and emissions reductions was required.
